14 Sep 2010There are several websites you can use to determine the value of your own website. Although the actual values given don’t hold much weight, the backlinks that some of these sites provide will certainly help, especially getting a brand new site indexed.
Below are some really easy and quick backlinks that you can do right now while reading this issue:
Enter your URL and click the “find” button to initiate your listing.
Optional/Advanced: You can get data including demographics of your visitors. To do this you will then need to:
• click the “get quantified” button
• register to setup an account
• generate their tag, place it on your pages at your site
• then have them scan your site.

Valuable info to know!
This is an important resource that is worth the time to setup and edit your listing.
• Enter your URL and click the “find” button.
• Begin editing your listing.
• You’ll need to register to setup an account first (look for the confirmation email and click on it).
• Fill in your basic description at the top
• Sign up for “get page alerts” when anybody edits this page (look for the confirmation email and click on it).
• You can then edit the page including the description, everything including related domains, external links and add tags.
• Just click on the edit pencil, edit, and then save.
Don’t forget to setup your user profile information and include a link in your signature.
• Enter your URL and click the “Value” button to get it indexed and added.
• You can also post a comment on the results page of your new listing and include a URL that is linked to the name you enter (Example: Discount Golf Clubs).
Enter your URL and click the button to get your site added.
5) http://www.peekstats.com/add-site
Enter your URL and click “Search” to get it indexed.
Optional: Add a comment below your new result and include a URL in the signature place for website (not in the actual post).
6) http://seoheap.com/sitevalue
Enter your URL in the big box and click the "Check Now" button to get it indexed.
7) http://www.sitevaluecalculator.com
Enter your URL and click the "Find Out" button to get it listed.
Enter your URL in the white box in the top right and click the “Lookup” button to get it indexed.
Optional: You can add their tiny bumper icon to your blog for enhanced exposure: http://www.urlfanx.com/site/bumper/805.html
Optional: You can add your RSS feed directly and also ping them from here: http://www.urlfanx.com/search_not_found.php3?no_cache=1
• Register for an account
• Then go add your website following these directions:
• You can define a keyword text link, but don’t make your listing look like an advertisement.
• You can go to your profile and make your “Nickname” a nice looking URL: i.e. Siphonator.com but know that it won’t be a live link – but hey, any URL exposure is good – shows up in the listings you add here.
10) http://www.websitevaluecalculator.com
Enter your URL in the calculator to get it indexed.
11) http://www.websiteoutlook.com
Enter your URL in the calculator to get it indexed.
12) http://www.yourwebsitevalue.com
Enter your URL in the calculator to get it indexed
Enter your URL and click the “Calculate Button” to get it listed
Enter your URL and click “Get Data” button.
• Also go to: http://www.alexa.com/siteowners
• Click “Edit Your Site” Data.
• You’ll need to register and then follow one of their verification requirements to edit your listing.
• You can write a review for your site’s listing and say how wonderful you and your site are. Just don’t go too overboard.
Click on the “Site Profile” tab and enter your URL.
TIP: This is also a very useful tactic for getting a brand new domain name/website indexed quickly. And yet this is another way to diversify your link building strategy for your site.
TIP: Some of these types of sites allow you to post a comment on your new listing immediately without registering for the site. Just don’t put a URL in the comment directly; be sure to use anchor text whenever possible.
Or, you can give the above list of domains (and any others you find) to someone you hire on any freelance website or somewhere and pay someone else to post to all these sites while you work on making money.

Thanks for this list, Alex!
I was unaware of some of these sites.
As you know, Alexa is an OK (free) way to gauge one's site's popularity.
It's funny, actually... I had a prospective client once tell me that they were paying $800/mo for "guaranteed clicks" to their one-year old website. Their Alexa ranking was over 12 MILLION.
I built them a new one and had it Alexa ranked at... 3 1/2 MILLION, in... LESS THAN A WEEK!
Thanks again for another great post!

Thanks guys!
Wow, Kevin! That's really funny :) I believe if someone actually takes action and goes through the list like this he will achieve even better results in the Alexa rankings.

Thanks very much for putting together this list. I went through it even though I have a blog that's been around for a few years. I got the links back as Google Alerts for the blog's name, so it seems to work.

Hi Again Alex, :)
I am going to do the actions you mention above as a qualified test and testimonial for your post. I will use every single one of the resources on this page today on my newer domain at Baton Rouge Insurance.
I have been actually looking for a quick to perform "essential" back linking strategy that would assist me in my new domain leasing concept. I am also looking at the idea of link chains and coffee pages.
So far I have a couple experiments going with link chains using coffee pages but it's too early to see the impact.
Thank You Alex

SEO Quaked your page to see if you pass page rank and realized you no-follow these comments. Why?
Isn't that morally in opposition to the back linking theory you teach?

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your comments. Actually, WordPress sets all the comments as "no-follow" by default. But after I read your comment I realized that it's not really fair.
So, I installed a new plugin that turns all the URLs in comments as "dofollow".
Thank you, Chris! :-)

Thanks, Alex. You've got much information here. I know about AboutUs.org but I didn't know the other sites you listed above are great for backlinking, too! Now I know ;)

Alex,
Many thanks for these links, a few seem to have changed or degraded but I think I've picked up 10 links from them.
Really appreciate the hints, usually I follow via Twitter.
